You, along with other staff, will be supporting two seasoned attorneys in the family law arena. In this role, you’ll be responsible for a range of tasks, including conducting legal research, preparing and managing legal documents within the realm of Family Law, drafting and submitting Motions, Declarations, Pleadings, and Court Orders, conducting client interviews, and maintaining proactive and responsive communication with clients through various channels, including in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and letters. Compensation: $52K – $73K/annually
Responsibilities:
- Create legal documents, including but not limited to interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notifications, complaints, pretrial directives, legal memos, and affidavits, while working under the supervision of an attorney.
- Coordinate various law office activities, such as drafting subpoenas and liaising with process servers.
- Carry out administrative tasks, including responding to phone inquiries and maintaining an organized case filing system to ensure the accessibility of all documents.
- Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
- Conduct interviews, gather information and important documents, keep clients apprised of their case status throughout the case.
Qualifications:
- Must be an exceptional communicator and writer. (writing sample required)
- Must possess high level organizational skills
- 5+ years of higher level legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a Family law firm
